Women's Volleyball Sweeps Their Way to 2025 MSAC Championship

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Finger Lakes women's volleyball (25–3, 7–0) extended its win streak to 20 consecutive matches, claiming both the regular-season and tournament titles on their home floor at Putt Moore Court.

In the semifinal matchup, Finger Lakes controlled play from start to finish, defeating Genesee 3–0 (25–18, 25–16, 25–18). Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) powered the attack with 13 kills and a .357 hitting percentage, while Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) recorded 26 assists and 4 aces to go along with 4 digs. Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) added 6 kills and 11 digs, and Kayce Hennekey (Irondequoit, N.Y./West Irondequoit) added 3 kills and a block.

In the championship match, the Lakers once again left no doubt, sweeping SUNY Jefferson 3–0 (25–9, 25–21, 26–24). Anna Kurtzhalts led the way with 14 kills, and Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) followed with 10 kills and 13 digs. Scheuer dished out 29 assists and added 2 service aces, while Neureuter chipped in 4 kills and 16 digs. Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) added 16 digs to her tally, while Ava Van Antwerp (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) added 5 kills.

Anna Kurtzhalts was named MSAC Player of the Year and joined Olivia Scheuer on the All-Conference First Team. Kayce Hennekey and Allyson St. Germain earned Second Team honors, while Jackie Neureuter made the Third Team, and Aubrie Tomlinson received Honorable Mention.
