Women's Volleyball Hosts MSAC Championship as Top Seed

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Lakers enter conference play as the #1 seed, facing #4 Genesee Community College at 11 AM on Court One in the semifinal round of the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship this Saturday, October 25th. The other semifinal will feature #2 Onondaga Community College against #3 SUNY Jefferson.

Finger Lakes carries a 23–3 overall record and a perfect 5–0 mark in conference play, entering the tournament riding an 18-match win streak and remaining undefeated at home (8–0) on the Putt Moore Court. The Lakers are currently ranked #10 in the NJCAA Division III national poll.

FLCC's balanced lineup has been led this season by Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island), 256 kills, Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus), 171 kills, Kayce Hennekey (Irondequoit, N.Y./West Irondequoit), 109 kills, Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke), 91 kills, and Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./ Paul V. Moore), 83 kills. Hennekey leads the team in hitting percentage at .290, while Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) anchors the defense with 219 digs, followed by St. Germain (133), Neureuter (121), Emma Balduf (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen), 115, and Scheuer (103).

Scheuer continues to pace the offense with 606 assists, while Balduf leads from the service line with 56 aces, closely followed by Scheuer (53) and Neureuter (49). Hennekey also leads the blocking effort with 34 total blocks on the year.

Entry for Saturday's championship is free to the public. The Lakers' match will be livestreamed on Finger Lakes Volleyball Streaming, with live stats available, while additional tournament coverage from Court Two will stream on the FLCC Lakers YouTube channel.
