Women's Volleyball Set for NJCAA DIII National Tournament in Cedar Rapids

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Lakers (27–3) earned the #9 seed and will face #8 Northampton Community College (PA) in the opening round on Thursday, Nov. 13th at 2 PM (EST) at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The full tournament field features 12 of the nation's top programs, representing six regions from across the country.

Finger Lakes enters nationals riding a 22-match win streak. The Lakers have become one of the most consistent programs in NJCAA Division III volleyball, becoming the first DIII program to win five straight Region III titles since regional play began in 1975.

The Lakers are led by MSAC Player of the Year Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island), who has recorded 283 kills, and setter Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore), who surpassed 660 assists this season. Kayce Hennekey (Irondequoit, N.Y./West Irondequoit) leads the team with a .270 hitting percentage and was named the Region III Tournament MVP, while Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) anchors the defense with 243 digs.

This marks Finger Lakes' fifth consecutive appearance at the national tournament, where the program will look to build on last year's top-10 national finish. Northampton's only loss during the regular season was a 3-1 setback on the road at Division II Harcum College on October 6th.  The Spartans have only dropped one set all season vs. NJCAA Division III competition.
