JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The #10-ranked Lakers rolled past Genesee Community College, 3–0, before sweeping Jamestown Community College by the same score to improve to 23–3 overall.
In the opener against Genesee, Finger Lakes controlled the pace from start to finish, taking the match by set scores of 25–16, 25–20, and 25–17. Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) led the attack with 8 kills and 4 service aces, while Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) added 5 kills and 4 aces of her own. Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) ran a balanced offense with 18 assists and added a pair of blocks and 3 digs. Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) anchored the back row with 12 digs and 3 service aces, as the Lakers finished with 12 aces as a team.
Finger Lakes carried that momentum into its final match, defeating Jamestown, 25–20, 25–17, and 25–14. St. Germain once again paced the offense with 5 kills and 3 aces, while Emma Balduf (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) was electric off the bench, tallying 5 kills on a .500 hitting percentage and 2 aces. Brianna Bansbach (Gates, N.Y./Gates-Chili) dished out 18 assists, and Olivia Scheuer contributed 10 more to lead a strong setting effort.
