SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball earned a pair of Region III victories on Saturday at the Onondaga Community College regional pod, grinding out a 3–2 win over Onondaga before sweeping Corning 3–0. The Lakers improved to 15-3 overall.
The opener against Onondaga was a back-and-forth battle that stretched to five sets. After splitting the first two frames, the Lakers controlled the third set 25–10 but were forced to a decisive fifth after the Lazers responded in the fourth. Finger Lakes sealed the match with a 15–9 win in the final set. Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) led the offense with 18 kills and 14 digs, while Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) added 7 kills and 10 digs. Setter Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) dished out 40 assists and tallied 3 service aces.
In the second match of the day, Finger Lakes rolled past Corning 3–0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-17). The Lakers again spread production across the lineup. Scheuer finished with 14 assists and 2 aces, while Neureuter chipped in 6 kills and 10 digs. Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) was steady in the back row with 10 digs and 2 aces, and Emma Balduf (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) added 2 kills and 2 aces.
The Lakers combined for 28 service aces across the two matches, extending their lead in the national rankings.
