TROY, N.Y. - The Lakers stayed red-hot in Region III play, scoring three times in the first 20 minutes to take full control and never looking back in Sunday's 4–0 shutout victory at Hudson Valley.
Bautista Suarez (Salta, Argentina/Colegio Belgrano) opened the scoring in the fourth minute on a setup from Germán Guzzi (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Imei), then doubled his tally just 16 minutes later, again assisted by Guzzi, to make it 3–0. Between Suarez's goals, Robin Giesing (Essen, Germany/Gymnasium-Essen-Werden) extended the lead in the 19th minute off a feed from Allan Matheus (Sergipe, Brazil/Americano Batista).
In the second half, Finn Atkinson (Warrington, England/Kings Leadership Academy Warrington) added the final goal in the 57th minute, finishing a pass from Suarez to seal the result. Goalkeeper Harry Eastwick (Christchurch, New Zealand/St. Thomas of Canterbury College) earned the shutout, marking Finger Lakes' 8th clean sheet of the season.
With the win, Finger Lakes improved to 12–1 overall and extended its winning streak to eight matches while holding steady at #2 in the NJCAA Division III national rankings.
