Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Lakers never trailed on a cold, snowy Sunday in upstate New York, jumping out to an early lead and holding on for a 90–84 victory over Fulton-Montgomery.
Giving the Lakers a fast start was sophomore guard George Spinelli (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy). He would set the tone early, scoring 10 of the Lakers' first 12 points. He finished with a team-high 23 points while also dishing out seven assists to lead the offense. Providing a major spark off the bench in the second half was Amir Tashimov (Jacksonville, FL. / Potter's House Christian Academy) who poured in 16 points while knocking down four three-pointers and not missing a shot. Tashimov accomplished the feat in just 10 minutes of action. Kyle Brooks (Miami, FL./Palm Bay) also came up big in the second half, hitting two clutch threes and finishing with nine points.
Damari Davis (Rochester, N.Y./University Prep) added 14 points off the bench and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds for the Lakers.
The Lakers will be back in action Tuesday night when they travel to Cayuga for a divisional matchup.
