Bio

After serving as Sports Information Director from 2021-2025, Nick Julien transitioned to the role of Assistant Director of Athletics in December 2025.

Julien's primary responsibilities will include the academic monitoring of FLCC's student-athletes, scheduling home and away contests for the Lakers' 17 intercollegiate athletics teams, and other day-to-day duties. Julien possesses a strong institutional knowledge of FLCC and has worked hard to cultivate meaningful connections across campus during his four years as Sports Information Director.

As the first full-time Sports Information Director in FLCC history, Julien oversaw the promotion of the Lakers' intercollegiate athletics teams, coordinated media relations efforts, and organized live streaming of select home games. He led the production and distribution of press releases, game recaps, feature stories, and video content that helped garner consistent local and regional coverage for the Lakers.

Julien oversaw FLCC's presence on social media and supervised and trained student workers and interns on game-day operations, statistical software, and digital production. He also supported the Athletic Department's daily operations and directed logistics for various National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) postseason championships and regional and conference tournaments, as well as external events, including campus-hosted high school state, regional, and sectional championships.

Julien served two years on the College Sports Communicators' Young Professionals Committee, developing programming and initiatives aimed at advancing early-career professionals in the sports communication industry.

Julien was also the co-advisor to FLCC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was the Department of Athletics' representative to the Student Corporation Board of Directors meetings, experiences that Julien says "gave me firsthand experience in amplifying the student-athlete voice in campus governance."

Julien has also collaborated with campus colleagues in the Marketing and Public Relations, Facilities, Admissions, Residential Life, Campus Police, and Student Involvement departments and the FLCC Foundation on a variety of projects and initiatives supporting the Department of Athletics.

Before coming to FLCC, Julien served as an intern with Section V of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and with the Avoca/Prattsburgh (high school) Athletic Department.

Julien earned an associate's degree in sports management from FLCC in 2020 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in sports management from St. John Fisher University in 2022 and a master's degree in sport management from SUNY Cortland in 2024.
