#10 Lakers Push Win Streak to 16, Improve to 21–3 with Wins Over Monroe and SUNY Broome

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The #10-ranked Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball team continued its dominant stretch on Saturday, earning a 3–1 victory over Monroe Community College and a 3–0 sweep of SUNY Broome at home. The Lakers improved to 21–3 overall, remaining perfect in conference play (5–0) while stretching their win streak to 16 straight matches.

In the morning match against Monroe (25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15), Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) and Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) led the way with 15 and 12 kills respectively. Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) distributed 27 assists and added 9 digs and 3 aces, while Aubrie Tomlinson (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) anchored the defense with 19 digs. Ava Van Antwerp (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) was a force in the middle, hitting .750 with 7 kills and 2 blocks.

The Lakers carried that momentum into the afternoon matchup with SUNY Broome, sweeping the Hornets 25-12, 25-17, 25-15. Kurtzhalts again powered the attack with 16 kills on a .522 hitting percentage, while St. Germain added 5 kills and 5 digs. Emma Balduf (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) provided a major lift from the service line with 5 aces, and Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) contributed 9 digs, 3 aces, and 2 blocks. Scheuer continued to run the offense efficiently with 21 assists and a .300 hitting performance of her own.

Finger Lakes hit over .300 as a team in the sweep and combined for 25 service aces across both matches.

The Lakers (21–3, 5–0 MSAC) hit the road for their final regional pod of the regular season at Jamestown Community College next Saturday, October 18th.
