QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball finished 1–1 on Saturday at the SUNY Adirondack regional pod, moving to 6–3 overall on the season. The Lakers dropped their opening match to Hudson Valley Community College 3–0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) before responding with a 3–1 win over the host Timberwolves (25-19, 25-22, 15-25, 31-29).
In the first match, Finger Lakes could not overcome Hudson Valley's balance despite 13 kills from Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) and 8 kills from Kayce Hennekey (Rochester, N.Y./West Irondequoit). Setter Olivia Scheuer (Constantia, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) finished with 21 assists and 2 aces, while Emma Balduf (Bergen, N.Y./Byron-Bergen) chipped in 8 digs.
The Lakers responded in the afternoon with a hard-fought four-set victory over SUNY Adirondack. Jackie Neureuter (Pembroke, N.Y./Pembroke) had one of her best outings of the season, finishing with 9 kills, 9 service aces, and 10 digs for a match-high 18 points. Scheuer guided the offense with 28 assists, 8 kills, and 12 digs, while Natalie Dunham (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) added 7 kills at a .462 hitting percentage. Kurtzhalts and Allyson St. Germain (Cincinnatus, N.Y./Cincinnatus) each added 9 and 6 kills, respectively.

Finger Lakes travels to Fulton-Montgomery on Saturday, September 13th, for its next Region III contest where they will face the host Raiders and SUNY Jefferson.
