Lakers Compete at Brockport Multi & Invitational

Brockport, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College track & field team turned in a strong showing this weekend at the Brockport Multi & Invitational, competing against a deep field of four-year programs and regional talent.

Leading the way for the Lakers was Jadah McCarthy (Rochester, N.Y. / Early College), who not only recorded a personal best in the 100m dash but also hit the national qualifying standard in the event. Her performance continues to establish her as one of the top sprinters in the region and a key contributor for the Lakers this season.

The meet also saw several other athletes reach new milestones. Megan McGregor (Marion, N.Y. / Marion Jr. Sr. High School) turned in a personal record in the 1500m, showing continued improvement in the middle-distance group. On the men's side, Ruairi Steverson (Manchester, N.Y. / Manchester-Shortsville) also posted a personal best in the 1500m, highlighting the steady development of the Lakers' distance crew.

Across the board, Finger Lakes showed strong progression, with multiple athletes putting themselves in position to reach national standards. The team continues to trend upward as several competitors are closing in on qualifying marks in their respective events.

The Lakers will next compete at the SUNY Cortland Invitational, which will also serve as the site of the Region III 10K event. The meet is scheduled for Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th.
