WATERTOWN, N.Y. - SUNY Jefferson built an early lead and never looked back, scoring four times in the first half before adding four more after the break.
The Cannoneers opened the scoring in the 11th minute and doubled the margin two minutes later. Two more goals before halftime stretched the deficit to 4–0. Jefferson continued to press in the second half, striking four more times to secure the result.
Freshman goalkeeper Hester Van Der Lek (Groningen, Netherlands/CSG Augustinus) faced heavy pressure throughout the afternoon, finishing with 14 saves on 22 shots on goal.
The Lakers were held without a shot in the match and move to 0–2 on the season.
