Lakers Drop a Pair Vs Erie

Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Lakers took the field at home against the Kats of Erie Community College, dropping both ends of the doubleheader by scores of 9-0 and 15-2.

Despite the results, the Lakers continued to compete throughout the day. In Game 1, the offense was limited to three hits, with Anna Kurtzhalts (Grand Island, N.Y. / Grand Island), Jenna Fowler (Honeoye Falls, N.Y. / Honeoye Falls-Lima), and Kloey Babcock (Rushville, N.Y. / Marcus Whitman) each collecting a hit. Jenna Fowler highlighted the effort with a triple, giving the lakers a prime scoring chance early on.

Isabella Burlew (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse Academy) battled in the circle and kept the game within reach during the middle innings.

The Lakers showed improvement at the plate in Game 2, pushing across two runs on three hits while continuing to compete throughout the lineup.

Anna Kurtzhalts and Emma Johnson (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) each recorded a hit and came around to score, with Johnson also driving in a run to lead the offense. Isabella Burlew added an RBI of her own, contributing to the Lakers' run production and helping generate momentum.

The Lakers will be back in action on Friday at Tompkins Cortland Community College before returning home on Saturday to wrap up the regular season with Sophomore Night against SUNY Adirondack.
