Lakers Cross Country Opens Season at Tom Balon Classic

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College cross country teams officially kicked off theit 2024 season at the Tom Balon Classic hosted by SUNY Brockport.

It was sophomore Zachary Lester who led the Lakers with their top finish, posting a time of 19:14.2 in the 5k race. Lester was followed by Edarius Trimble at 19:47.5, Griffin Miller with 21:26, and Timothy Vilkhu who rounded out the squad with a time of 22:01.6. For the women, it was freshman Kayla Dunstan who was the top finisher for the Lakers, completing the course in 25:30.8, while teammate Alana Bedell finished in 29:41.8.

The Lakers are home next Saturday, September 14th for the FLCC Bruce Bridgeman Invitational. The women's race will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by a 11:15 AM start for the men's race.
