Lakers Hit Season Bests and Personal Records at Brockport
The Lakers returned to Brockport and walked away with new bests, strong times, and continued momentum in the outdoor season.
BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College track and field team continued its steady progress during the outdoor season with a strong showing at Brockport, highlighted by personal bests and a season-best relay finish.
Jason Hunt-McLean led the Lakers in the throws, posting a mark of 32.30m in the discus and setting a new personal best in the javelin at 37.82m. In the field events, Terreque Davis recorded a 5.84m leap in the long jump, while Charles Sherman landed at 5.48m and added performances in the 100-meter dash (12.55) and javelin (21.17m).
On the track, Dylan Peck had a strong day, running 12.26 in the 100-meter and setting a personal best in the 200-meter at 24.95. Edwin Del Angel also earned a new personal record in the 200-meter with a time of 27.60 after running 13.14 in the 100-meter. In the distance events, Edarius Trimble turned in a big personal best in the 1500-meter run at 4:57.28 and followed it with a 2:19.53 in the 800-meter. Griffin Miller also earned a personal best in the 1500-meter at 5:08.19 and clocked 2:28.60 in the 800-meter.
On the women's side, Alana Bedell continued her upward trend with personal bests in both the 1500-meter (7:03.74) and the 800-meter (3:27.88). Jadah McCarthy ran 13.75 in the 100-meter and 28.41 in the 200-meter. Kayla Dunstan continued her work in the long-distance events with a time of 24:13.03 in the 5000-meter.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Dylan Peck, Terreque Davis, Edwin Del Angel, and Charles Sherman closed out the meet on a high note, running a season-best time of 48.41.
