FLCC Esports Shines in Week Two with Statement Wins Across Multiple Titles
The Finger Lakes Community College Esports program continues to make waves in the second week of the regular season with some early standout performances and achievements.
Monday night saw 4 dominant wins from the Tekken 8 team, with team captain Thomas LoDestro earning his first 2 wins of the season that evening. Alongside this, the Fortnite Zero Build team accumulated a total of 8 wins, with the duo of Alex Goble and Alanna Gebo accomplishing 4 of these wins on their own.
On Tuesday night, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player Michael Wolff earns his first win of the season against Panola College.
Wednesday night Apex Legends player Luis Aviles Rodriguez swept through a quadruple header, placing himself firmly in the national top two in the league. We also saw a win from the Madden NFL team from player Brennan Bates, who is currently competing in the highest division but proving he can handle the competition.
Wrapping up Thursday night the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe team put up 8 combined wins, with players Dayton Gulick and Ethan Carson both facing off against Heartland CC and Marshalltown CC, some of the top schools in the league.
