Esports Is Officially Underway for the Spring Season

The Spring season is officially underway for Finger Lakes Community College Esports, and all teams are starting off strong in their regular seasons as they set their sights on playoff qualification. The program is on pace for another record-breaking season, with old players pursuing new achievements, and new players ready to show their strength.

Their week started off on Monday night with the Fortnite Zero Build team locking in a combined 5 wins. Last semester FLCC achieved their 5th national title in this game and the team is showing no signs of slowing down.

On Tuesday the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate team played their matches and players Jakob Bamberger and Audrey Tambe secured their first wins of the season against Wake Tech and Lorain County CC.

Wednesday night we saw wins from Madden NFL players Brennan Bates and Andrew Mikulec and Apex Legends player Luis Aviles Rodriguez, who scored 3 wins alone that night.

The week closed out on Thursday, with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe team gaining 9 wins across all their members. We also saw 3 wins from Street Fighter 6 player Aubrey Moore, who is currently seeded 4th place nationally heading into their Division 1 season.
