Finger Lakes to Dedicate Baseball Field to Hall of Famer Bob Lowden

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is proud to announce the formal naming of the baseball diamond at the FLCC Multi-use Turf Facility in honor of former Director of Athletics and Head Baseball Coach, Bob Lowden. The dedication ceremony for the newly minted Lowden Field will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m.

Bob Lowden's legacy is woven into the fabric of Laker Athletics. His career at FLCC began in 1988 as Head Coach of the baseball program, where he quickly led the team to historic heights. Under his leadership, the Lakers captured the 1992 and 1994 Region III, Division III Championships, the first regional titles in the college's history.

In 2006, Lowden transitioned into the role of Director of Athletics, overseeing the growth and modernization of the entire athletic department. His contributions to the college were formally recognized in 2013 with his induction into the FLCC Athletics Hall of Fame. Lowden continued to lead the department until his retirement in 2019.
