Lakers Welcome Talented Incoming Class for 2025 Women's Volleyball Season

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College women's volleyball program is thrilled to welcome six new student-athletes to the Lakers' roster for the 2025 season. After a historic 2024 season with a 30-4 record, the program's highest-ever national ranking, and a fourth consecutive Region III Championship, the incoming class will play a crucial role in maintaining the team's competitive legacy.

"I am extremely excited about the incoming class of 2025," said Head Coach Andrew Solomon. "They bring a vast amount of volleyball experience and leadership. I think they will do an excellent job filling the roles of some of our graduating sophomores."

Olivia Scheuer, a versatile 5'5" lefty setter and libero from Constantia, N.Y., leads the incoming class, who plays for Central Square High School and Club Syrv. A First Team All-CNY selection in 2023 and 2024, Scheuer earned Libero of the Year honors in the Salt City Athletic Conference and was named 6th Team All-State. As a senior, she set a school record with 321 digs and finished her career with 605 digs, ranking third in program history. A captain and NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete, Scheuer brings a wealth of skill and leadership to the Lakers.

Joining her is Aubrie Tomlinson, a 5'4" libero from Lake View, N.Y., and Frontier High School, who also plays club for Buffalo Volleyball Academy. A defensive standout, Tomlinson was named Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-ECIC Second Team honors during her senior season. As a team captain, she demonstrated leadership and tenacity on the court, which will strengthen the Lakers' defensive lineup.

The Lakers also welcome Carmen Crowley, a 5'11" middle hitter from Bolivar, N.Y., who stars at Bolivar-Richburg High School and plays club for Octane VBC. Crowley served as team captain and was named her school's MVP during her senior season. She was a two-time Allegany County First Team All-Star and played for Octane Volleyball Club. With her size and athleticism, Crowley will bring a commanding presence at the net for the Lakers.

Another impactful addition is Natalie Dunham, a 5'11" middle hitter from Geneva, N.Y., who competes at Geneva High School and VolleyFX. Dunham earned Finger Lakes East All-League honors in 2023 and 2024 and was recognized as a Finger Lakes Exceptional Senior in 2024. A captain and Scholar Athlete, she combines skill with poise under pressure, making her a valuable asset to the team's front row.

Addison Bardwell, a 5'9" middle and right-side hitter from Rochester, N.Y., brings championship experience to the Lakers. A key player for Aquinas Institute and Hot Shots VBC, Bardwell helped lead her team to the 2024 Section V Class B Championship and was named to the tournament's All-Tournament Team. The 2023 AQ Rookie of the Year, Bardwell's versatility will be crucial as the Lakers build on their offensive depth.

Rounding out the class is Addison Paul, a 5'8" outside hitter from Medina, N.Y. A captain at Medina High School who also competes for the Niagara Frontier VBC. Paul was a 2024 Second Team Niagara Orleans All-League selection and a three-time NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete.

This incoming group will help fill key roles left by graduating sophomores, including those of All-American setter Payton Stoddard (Bloomfield, N.Y./Bloomfield), Region III Defensive Player of the Year libero Michelina Williams (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), DS Molly Goulette (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and hitters Karynn Price (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Mary Pierce (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal).
