Lakers Secure Third Straight Win with 61-37 Victory Over North Country
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team earned their third consecutive win, defeating North Country 61-37 to improve to 6-6 overall. Dominant rebounding, defensive pressure, and strong performance from key players propelled the Lakers to another decisive victory.
Jazzmyn Lewis (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) continued her stellar season, leading the way with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 7 steals, and 4 assists, recording her second double-double in as many games. Dalayla Alexander (Ellicottville, N.Y./Ellicottville) also posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, adding 9 steals to her tally.
Ella Robinson (Hallstead, PA./Blue Ridge) chipped in with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals, providing a scoring boost. The Lakers dominated the glass with 48 total rebounds, including an impressive 27 offensive boards; creating second-chance opportunities which proved crucial after a slow start in the first half.
The Lakers will look to extend their winning streak and continue building momentum as they prepare for their next matchup against conference foe SUNY Jefferson on Tuesday, January 21st, at 5 PM to conclude a four-game homestand.
