Several Lakers PR at Highlander Invitational
HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's and women's cross country teams' traveled to Houghton College Saturday morning for the annual Houghton Highlander Cross Country Invitational. The Lakers would find themselves matched against strong competition with several Empire 8 Conference colleges (NCAA DIII) in attendance. The course, which is fairly flat, allowed several Lakers including John Zimmerman (Middlesex, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman) and Michael Oberdorf (Newark, N.Y./ Newark) to pick up PRs.

The Lakers now enter championship season, starting on October 15th in Painted Post, N.Y. for the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) championships hosted by Corning Community College. The Lakers will follow the MSAC championships with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region III championships at Finger Lakes Community College on October 22nd. The team will look to take down the defending champions and reclaim their notoriety as one of the strongest NJCAA Region III programs.
