Lakers Kickoff Regular Season at Cobleskill
COBLESKILL, N.Y.- The Finger Lakes Community College cross country teams traveled to Cobleskill, N.Y. for the 2022 Steven A. Warde Invitational. The men's team would earn a 6th place team finish.
Men
Freshman Michel Oberdorf (Newark, N.Y./ Newark) would earn the top spot for the Lakers in the meet, finishing 21st with a time of 31:24.68. Sophomore teammate Jacob DiGiovanni (Waterloo, N.Y./ Waterloo) would trail Oberdorf, finishing 24th with a time of 31:56.34. Sophomore John "JT" Zimmerman (Middlesex, N.Y./ Marcus Whitman) picked up the next best finish for the Lakers, coming in 39th with a time of 34:37.30.

Women
Freshman MacKenzie Ferris shined in her first meet of the season, placing 26th and finishing with a time of 33:30.73. Freshman Morgan Cheney (Prattsburgh, N.Y./ Prattsburgh) claimed the next spot for a Lakers student-athlete, finishing 31st with a time of 35:13.51. Freshman Cierra Huck (Wayne, N.Y./ Wayne) earned the final spot for a Laker, finishing 38th with a time of 37:57.25.

The Lakers will be on their home course next Saturday, September 17th for the Finger Lakes Community College Bruce Bridgeman Invitational. The Laker's annual cross country invitational will begin at 10:30 AM.
