Lakers Wrap Up Regular Season with 97-87 Loss to Jamestown
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team closed out the 2024-25 regular season with a 97-87 loss to Jamestown Community College on Wednesday evening. The Lakers now turn their attention to Region III postseason play, currently sitting at 11th in the standings with final seeding still to be determined.
Anthony Torres (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) led the Lakers with a game-high 28 points, shooting 50% from the field while adding 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bruce Wilder Jr. (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) chipped in 16 points, and Jace Brown (Red Creek, N.Y./Red Creek) contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds. Off the bench, Joe Caito (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) provided an efficient spark, scoring 14 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting performance.
The Lakers shot a strong 52% from the field and 61% from three-point range, but Jamestown's offensive firepower proved difficult to contain. FLCC will now await the final regional standings to determine their next opponent in the Region III postseason.
