Former Laker Thriving in England
SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND -- Former Finger Lakes guard Jorge Ebanks was named Defensive Player of the Year and Domestic Player of the Year for the 2013-14 season in the English Basketball League Division 1. Ebanks is playing for the Tees Valley Mohawks in Middlesborough, England. He was also named to the All-EBL Division 1 Team and the All-Domestic Players Team.
Jorge Ebanks was a two-year player for Richard Jones at Finger Lakes. He scored 752 points and had 187 assists in his career with the Lakers. Ebanks came to Finger Lakes from Lee Academy, a prep school in Maine. Following his time with the Lakers, he went to Daemen College in Buffalo to play basketball.
Ebanks has played professional in Buffalo and in the Cayman Islands before being signed by Tees Valley. He averaged 20.4 points per game this past season. He also added 5.5 assists and 3.4 steals per game for the Mohawks.
