Lakers Have Closest Game Yet

DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Soccer team played their final day of the Tompkins Cortland Community College Soccer Tournament yesterday against the Holyoke Community College Cougars. The Lakers lost 3-1.

This was the closest game the Lakers have had so far this season. The scoring in the first half was started off by the Cougars. Cassidy Snyder scored, and was assisted by Stephania Robert. The next goal on the board was scored by the Lakers. Alexis Gossage scored her second of the season, and was assisted by Hannah Ceravolo. The final goal of the half was scored by Snyder again, this time assisted by Samantha Tersavich.

The Cougars scored their final goal of the game in the second half. Snyder scored the goal, again assisted by Robert.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Gossage with one goal, Ceravolo with one assist, and Goal Keeper, Melanie Gleason, with five saves.

The Lakers will play next on Saturday, September 1st for their home opener. Since our fields are under construction for the new turf facility, the game will be played at Canandaigua Academy, at 1:00pm. The Lakers will be playing Clinton Community College.
