Women's Soccer Suffers Loss to Erie Community College

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women’s Soccer team suffered a 0-3 loss to Erie Community College this past Wednesday. The Lakers traveled to Erie Community College. FLCC Women’s Soccer now has a 2-2 record.

The Lakers found the Kats to be a tough opponent on Wednesday. The Kats kept the Lakers mostly on defense throughout the game. The Lakers could only get off one shot during the entire game, as opposed to the 27 the Kats had.

In the first half, the Kats scored two goals. The first was scored by Sam Carey, which was unassisted. Carey put the ball in off of a rebound. Their second goal was scored by Annaliese Ziemann, assisted by Carey. Ziemann’s goal was scored as a header.

In the second half, the Kats scored their final goal. Makenna Carpenter took a shot from inside the 18 after a pass from Ashley Mietz. The Lakers held the Kats to only 11 shots in the second half.

The only game leader from the Lakers was goal keeper, Isabella Prest. Prest recorded 12 saves.

The Lakers play next at home against Mohawk Valley Community College. They play on Wednesday, September 13, at 3:00pm.
