Fresh off an appearance in the NJCAA Region III championship, the Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team will kick off the 2017 season at home Aug. 23 against SUNY Broome Community College.
The Lakers will be home for two of their first three games. Following the opener, FLCC plays Harford CC in Rochester Aug. 26 before hosting Hudson Valley CC on Aug. 30.
September is a road-heavy month for the Lakers, as FLCC plays five of its first six September games on the road: at Monroe CC (Sept. 3), Erie CC (Sept. 6), Onondaga CC (Sept. 16), Jamestown CC (Sept. 20), and Cayuga CC (Sept. 23) sandwiched around a Sept. 13 home game vs. Mohawk Valley CC.
The push for a playoff spot will feature a home-heavy closing portion of the schedule, with five of the final seven games occuring on campus.
FLCC welcomes Jefferson CC (Sept. 27), Corning CC (Sept. 30), Niagara County CC (Oct. 4), Tompkins Cortland CC (Oct. 7), and Genesee CC (Oct. 11) to Canandaigua, while the Lakers travel to William Smith (Oct. 5) and Herkimer College (Oct. 17) to close out the regualr season.
The NJCAA Region III Subregional tournament takes place Oct. 25 and 28.
FLCC went 16-3 (5-1 in MSAC) and made an appearance in the NJCAA Region III championship in 2016, falling to Erie CC 2-0.
