Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College women's soccer team extends their winnings streak to nine following their victory over Cayuga Community College (10-1) on Saturday, September 24.
The Lakers took control of Saturday's match, outshooting their opponent 37-8. Lindsey Lovett put the Lakers up early, scoring in the first minute of play. Lovett scored a second time for the Lakers four minutes later. In the 19th minute, Jennifer Pedro put the Lakers up 3-0 after scoring from outside the box. Lovett got her hat-trick in the 22nd minute. The Lakers would not score again for the remainder of the half.
Lovett got her fourth and final goal of the day in the first minute of the second half. Preslee Batog scored for the Lakers jut twenty seconds later off a feed from Colby Kutzer. The Spartans scored their only goal of the match in the 57th minute. Abigail Keenan answered back in the 59th minute to put the Lakers ahead 7-1. The final three goals of the match were scored by Caitlin Pawlaczyk, Colby Kutzer, and Jennifer Pedro to give the Lakers a 10-1 victory.
Following Saturday's match, the Lakers will travel to Jefferson CC to face the Cannoneers on Wednesday, September 28. The match is set to begin at 2pm.
