Canandaigua, NY -- The sixth ranked women's soccer team defeated the Jayhawks of Jamestown Community College (4-1) on Wednesday, September 21 and extend their winning streak to eight.
Lindsey Lovett scored first in the 19th minute of play for the Lakers. Just one minute later, Preslee Batog put the ball in the back of the net via a header off a cross into the box from Lovett. Despite a continued offensive push, the Lakers were unable to score again before the half.
Lovett started the scoring again for the Lakers in the 72nd minute for her second goal of the day. The final Lakers goal came from Riley Sanger in the 77th minute. She was unassisted. The lone Jayhawks goal came late in the closing minutes from outside the box.
The Lakers will host the Spartans from Cayuga Community College in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday, September 24. Game time is set for 1pm.
