Lakers Lose Win Streak

CORNING, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team broke their win streak this Saturday against the Corning Community College Red Barons. The Lakers fell 62-48.

It was a close game in the first half. The Lakers ended the first quarter down by three, but came back in the second quarter, ending it in the lead. They were only behind by three points at the end of the third, but could not find the momentum to regain the lead to win it.

The Lakers only shot 29.7% in the field while the Red Barons shot 40%. The Lakers shot better three pointers than the Red Barons shooting 27.8%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Mackenzie Hamer with 16 points, and Sarah Lacey with 13 points, and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers will play next at Cayuga Community College on Wednesday, February 14th. They will play at 5:00pm.
