CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team finished their week off with another MSAC Conference win against the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers on Saturday. The Lakers won 77-54.
The Lakers started out pretty strong against the Cannoneers. They ended the first quarter up 23-9. A jump shot made by Ranaveya Richards a little past 3 minutes into the game, prompted the big lead for the Lakers. Their passing and ball movement were leading them to point after point. They kept a steady lead, scoring more than 20 points from the first quarter to the third, until the fourth, when they scored 11 points.
The Lakers shot 47.6% in the field, while the Cannoneers only shot 30.6%. The Lakers also shot 26.3% in three pointers when the Cannoneers shot 18.2%.
Game leaders for the Lakers were Sarah Lacey with 35 points, 12 rebounds, and Richards with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.
The Lakers will play next on Saturday, February 10th at Corning Community College. They will play at 12:00pm.
