CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team won their eighth game in a row and seventh conference game in a row on Wednesday. The Lakers beat the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets 72-24.
The Lakers came out strong in the beginning scoring 25 points in the first quarter, while only allowing 8 from the Hornets. They kept a steady lead as the game progressed. The Hornets kept the scoring close in the second quarter scoring 11 points while the Lakers scored 13. Once the second half arrive, the Lakers solidified their win scoring 17 points each quarter, holding the Hornets to only 5 points throughout the entire half.
The Lakers had a 35.4% field goal percentage while the Hornets had 21.3%. The Lakers also shot 23.5% in three points while the Hornets shot 17.6%.
The Lakers will play next at home against the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers. They will play on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00pm.
