Women's Basketball Keeps Winning

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team won their fourth conference game in a row against the Cayuga Community College Spartans on Saturday January 20th. The Lakers won 83-76.

It was a slow start for the Lakers, they ended the first half tied at 10-10. Kept ahead by a few as the game progressed. Mackenzie Hamer perked the team up by making a few threes and they started scoring more rapidly. They kept their lead the whole game and ended it with a score of 83-76.

The Lakers were not as accurate as the Spartans shooting in the field. Cayuga had a 42.4% while the Lakers only shot 39.4%. The Lakers were better with three pointers with a 33.3%, while the Spartans only shot 20%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Ranaveya Richards with 38 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, Sarah Lacey with 23 points, and 24 rebounds.
