Women's Basketball Keeps Conference Win Streak Alive

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team won their third Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) game on Thursday against the Corning Community College Red Barons. The Lakers won 75-39.

The Lakers jumped on the Red Barons early only allowing them to score eight points in the first quarter. In the second quarter, they only allowed 10 points. They ended the half ahead 32-18. The Lakers steadily scored more points than the Red Barons each quarter. They ended the game with a score of 75-39.

The Lakers had a great field goal percentage, scoring over half of the shots they put up. They had a 53.1% while the Red Barons had a 21.7%. They also led in three point percentage with a 26.3%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Mackenzie Hamer with 20 points, and 12 rebounds, Sarah Lacey with 20 points, and Ranaveya Richards with 14 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists.

The Lakers take on Cayuga Community College next, at home, on Saturday, January 20th. They will play at 1:00pm.
