Women Keep Win Streak Alive Against The Raiders

CANANDAIGUA, NY – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team won again against the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders on Sunday. This is the Laker's sixth win in a row. They won 72-54.

It was a tight quarter in the beginning of the game. The Raiders were right on the Lakers' tail. They finished the first quarter with a score of 16-12. The Lakers started pulling more ahead during the second quarter. They scored 21 more points, making the score at the half 37-27. After halftime, the Raiders started to score a little more. They ended the third quarter scoring 18 points while the Lakers only scored 15. It became a closer game with a score of 52-45. The Lakers were determined to stay in the lead and scored 20 more points in the final quarter, ending the game with a score of 72-54.

The Lakers shot 40.3% in the field while the Raiders only shot 32.8%. Both teams were 25% for threes and the Lakers walked away with the most rebounds, with 55.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Ranaveya Richards with 27 points and five assists, and Sarah Lacey had 21 points, 18 rebounds, and two blocks.

The Lakers will play again at home on Saturday, December 16th. They will play the Columbia-Greene Community College Twins at 1:00pm.
