CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team won their fifth game in a row on Wednesday. They beat the Tompkins Cortland Panthers 68-56.
The start of the game was a slow one for the Lakers. They started out behind for most of the first quarter, but finally kicked it into gear toward the end. They finished the first quarter 20-14. They steadily outscored the Panthers each quarter. At the half, the Lakers were up 35-28. They then scored 21 more points in the third and 12 more in the fourth for a final score of 68-56.
The Lakers managed to shoot better in the field shooting 40% while the Panthers scored 36.5%. They could not quite make as many threes and only had a 26.7% while the Panthers had 41.7%.
The Lakers will take on the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders on Sunday, December 10th. Tip off will begin at 1:00pm on their home court.
