Women's Basketball Improves to 4-2

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team advanced to 4-2 on the season after their win against the Niagara County Community College Thunder Wolves this past Tuesday night. The Lakers won 76-61.

The game started off in favor of the Thunder Wolves. The first quarter ended in a score of 18-16 in favor of the Thunder Wolves. The second quarter was also in favor of the Thunder Wolves with the Lakers only scoring nine points.

Once the second half started, the Lakers gained momentum and started chipping away at the score. Sarah Lacey started off a scoring streak with a steal and a layup, followed by multiple steals and points scored by Ranaveya Richards. From then on, the Lakers controlled the game. The Lakers turned it around and won 76-61.

The Lakers shot 47.5% in the field and 25% in threes. They had 47 rebounds

Game leaders for the Lakers were Richards with 23 points, five assists, Lacey with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and Teaonna Jenkins with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.

The Lakers play next at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday, December 2nd. They will play at 1:00pm.
