Women's Basketball Finishes Out Their Weekend 1-1

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team came out victorious against the Herkimer College Generals this past Sunday. The Lakers won 84-62.

The game started out in favor of the Lakers in the first quarter. The Lakers outscored the Generals 20-13. Ranaveya Richards was the leading scorer in the first quarter with 9 points.

The second quarter was similar to the first, with the Lakers again outscoring their opponent 26-14. They made 60% of their field goals as opposed to the General's 35.7%.

In the second half of the game, the Generals started to come back a little bit. They outscored the Lakers 23-19 in the third quarter, and 19-12 in the fourth. It was not enough and the Lakers walked away with the win.

The Lakers shot 56.5% in the field, and 37.5% for threes. They also had 42 rebounds while the Generals only had 27.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Richards with 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 13 assists. Sarah Lacey contributed 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Mackenzie Hamer score 15 points.

The Lakers will play next on Tuesday, November 21st against the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves. They will play at home, at 5:30pm.
