Lakers Defeat Saint Bernards In OT

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team triumphed over the North Country Community College Saint Bernards on November 12th. The Lakers won 62-60 in overtime.

The game went back and forth throughout all four quarters of regulation play. The first quarter ended in a 14-7 lead for the Saint Bernards. Then the Lakers picked it up and outscored their opponent 11-8, they still did not find the lead. In the third quarter the Lakers outscored the Saint Bernards again, this time 21-13, pulling ahead 39-35. In the fourth quarter, North Country kicked it into high gear and outscored the Lakers 20-16, putting them at a tie at 55-55. Then in overtime, the Lakers outscored the Saint Bernards 7-5 winning the game 62-60.

The Lakers shot 29.3% in the field and 23.8% for threes. They had 40 rebounds while the Saint Bernards had 42.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Sarah Lacey with 19 points, 11 rebounds, Ranaveya Richards with 11 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and Nya Clark with 11 points, four rebounds.
