Women's Basketball Falls to Tribunes in Home Opener

Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team lost their home opener Tuesday night against the Tribunes from Monroe Community College by a score of 94-53.  

The Lakers shot only 33.9% from the floor and 64.7% from the free throw line in Tuesday's Region III matchup.  However, they did top the Tribunes in rebounds (42-37) and in second chance points (12-7).  Megan Howell and Janae Brannon led the Lakers scoring with 16 points apiece.  Brannon would add 11 rebounds, six assists, and 4 steals.  Howell also had eight rebounds.  

The Lakers will return to action on Saturday, November 5 when they face the Twins from Columbia-Greene Community College in a NJCAA Region III match-up.  Tipoff is set for 1pm.
