Women's Basketball Defeats Hawks 68-61

The FLCC women's basketball team defeated the Hawks from Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday, November 19 by a final score of 68-61.  Saturday's win marks the Lakers first victory over the Hawks in the past six seasons.  

The Lakers were able to hold on to their slim lead throughout the course of Saturday's contest, outscoring the Hawks in three of the fours quarters.  Ranaveya Richards led the Lakers, finishing with 25 points.  Richards is now sixth in points/per game in Region III, averaging 16.1.  

Megan Howell had 15 points and six rebounds.  Howell is currently fourth fourth in Region III in field goal percentage, averaging 52.6%.   Janae Brannon ended Saturday's game with 10 points and 14 total rebounds.  She is now sixth in rebounds/game in the region, averaging 10.1.  Krystal Hunter also finished with 10 points and seven rebounds against the Hawks.  

The Lady Lakers will return to action on Tuesday, November 29 when they host the Cougars from Genesee Community College on Putt Moore Court.  Tipoff is set for 7pm.
