Women's Basketball Celebrates Sophomore Night

The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team recognized 2 sophomores at Saturday's game against Onondaga Community College for Sophomore night.  Sophomores Michelle Broderick and Monica Brennan have both completed two seasons with the Lakers and were recognized for their many accomplishments on and off the court before Saturdays game.  

 The Lakers played well saturday as they stayed within 10 points of the 4th ranked team in the NJCAA for the entire first half of play.  The Lakers continued their strong play at the start of the second half, but the Lazers were able to widen the gap to 17.  After an even 20 points a piece in the final quarter, Onondaga closed out the match by a final score of 82-65 over the Lakers.

Freshman Megan Howell led the Lakers offense with 17 points and 5 steals on the night.  Monica Brennan closed out the night with a double double whith 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Atoria Elem had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Lakers will end their season this Tuesday as they host the Cougars from Genesee Community College.  Tipoff is at 7:00PM on Putt Moore Court.
