Lakers Fall to MSAC Opponent

The Finger Lakes Community College Women's basketball team was defeated by Mid-State Athletic Conference opponent, SUNY Jefferson Community College on Saturday by a score of 64-55.  The Lakers are now 5-11 overall and 1-2 in the MSAC.

The Lakers led the Cannoneers going into halftime by a score of 28-27.  However, The Lakers were held to just 10 points in the third quarter of play while the Cannoneers put up 19 points.  The final quarter was more evenly matched as Finger Lakes scored 17 points to Jeffersons 18 points.  It would not be enough as the Lakers came up short at Jefferson.

Shelby Dugan led the Lakers attacking force with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks.  Krystal Hunter came off the bench to score 13 points for the Lakers.  Monica Brennan scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals against the Cannoneers.

The Lakers will have their first home game of 2016 this Thursday as they host the Red Barons from Corning Community College in another MSAC matchup.  Tipoff is set for 5:30pm.
