Lady Lakers Fall to Number 2 Nationally Ranked Onondaga on the Road

SYRACUSE, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers (10-10) fell to number 2 nationally ranked Onondaga Community College tonight on the road, 76-57. On the night, the Lady Lakers shot just 28 percent from the field while committing 20 turnovers. With the win, Onondaga improved to 18-3 on the season.

Despite the loss, FLCC saw yet another 20-point performance out of freshman sensation Cassandra Strait (Dundee, NY). The guard reached the 20-point plateau on the number. She also pulled down 6 rebounds and handed out 4 assists.

Freshman forward Marissa Congdon (Canandaigua, NY) was the only other Lady Laker to reach double figures in scoring tonight. She finished the game with 11 points.

A pair of freshman guards, Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit, NY) and Britany Monpere (Palmyra, NY) each contributed into FLCC's offense in the losing effort. McCauley finished the game with 9 points while Monpere added 8 of her own.

The Lady Lakers will conclude their three-game road trip this Saturday (1/28) when they take on Tompkins-Cortland Community College at 1:00 p.m.
