Lady Lakers Come Up Short Despite Second Half Run

CANANDAIGUA, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers (9-8) came up short on Thursday night at home against Corning Community College despite a second half charge, falling 71-65.

Freshman shooting guard Cassandra Strait (Dundee) reached the 20-point plateau for the third consecutive game for the Lady Lakers, finishing the night with a team-high 21 points. Strait also accounted for 6 rebounds, handed out 6 assists (team-high), and was on the receiving end of 3 steals.

Freshman shooting guard Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit) also found the double-digit scoring column for FLCC by pouring in 19 points.

Freshman guard Britany Monpere (Palmyra) added 9 points and pulled down 7 rebounds for the Lady Lakers.

FLCC will return to the hardwood on Saturday (1/21) to face Cayuga Community College at home. Game time is slated for 12:00 p.m. at Putt Moore Court.
