Women’s Basketball Wins a Thriller over Division II Opponent Alfred State

Canandaigua – The FLCC Lady Lakers (6-4) won in thrilling fashion on Wednesday evening at home over a perennial Division II team, Alfred State, by a score of 62-61. Freshman sensation Cassandra Strait (Dundee) sealed the game with a clutch free-throw in front of a large crowd at Putt Moore Court for the Lady Lakers with 20 seconds remaining on the clock. Strait finished the game with 23 points (9-16 from the field). Marissa Congdon (Canandaigua) also turned in a valuable effort for FLCC on Wednesday, scoring 17 points (7-12 from the field) while pulling down 7 rebounds. Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit) rounded out the double-digit scoring column for the Lady Lakers by finishing the game with 14 points, 12 of which came off of 4 three-point field goals.

FLCC will be back in action next Tuesday (12/6) on the road at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
