Men's And Women's Track Bring Home Regional Titles At Regional Championship

The Men and Women's Track team spent two days competing at Little Falls NY for the Regional Championship Meet.  The Men's team fell short of their expectations due to some surprise performances from other schools, as well as some injuries.  With that said, we did end up with two more National qualifiers, several regional champions, and runners up.

On the track we had some outstanding finishers.  Tim Kennerson ran the 110 meter hurdles in 18.00 seconds taking home the regional title.  He also ran the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:01.69 finishing 2nd, which qualified him for the national meet.  Michael Booth, who is already a national qualifier, finished 2nd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.10. The 4X800 meter team consisting of Sam Voak, Jake Phillips, Jordan Buisch, and Booth, took home the title winning by over 5 seconds.

In the field, Devin Nottingham won the High Jump and finished 2nd in the Triple Jump.  His high jump of 1.88 meters(6'2") was not only a personal best, but also puts him 4th on the national ranking list.

The woman's team had a great day.  Audrie Prusinowski won both the 100 and 400 meter hurdles, and finished 2nd in the 3000 Steeplechase.  Prusinowski's 400m hurdle time of 1:20.44 qualified her for her 3rd national event.  Gillian Laco won the Women's Pole Vault with a height of 2.36 meters (7' 8 3/4").  Both Prusinowski and Laco will be competing at the NJCAA National Meet this weekend.

The Men and Women Lakers will be traveling to Mohawk Valley this weekend for the NJCAA National Championships.
