Laco, Booth, Both Qualify For Nationals In Cardinal Classic

While the weather was less than perfect on Saturday, the Men and Women Lakers competed at the Cardinal Classic at St. John Fisher.  Two student-athletes had stand out performances for the day.

Gillian Laco, from Palmyra, NY, set a season best in the Women's pole vault.  Laco vaulted 2.46 meters (8 feet 1 1/2 inches), shattering what was the 2.31 meter (7 feet 6 inches) FLCC school record.  This vault currently this has her ranked 1st in the region and 2nd in the NJCAA national rankings.

On the Men's side, Michael Booth, from Wayland-Cohocton high school, set a season and personal best in the 800m running a 2:04.20.  This time not only qualified him for the NJCAA national Track and Field championships, but has him ranked second in the Region.

The Laker's next meet will be the Regional Track and Field Championships In Little Falls NY on May 4th and 5th.
