The weather over the weekend was great as the FLCC Men and Women's track team competed at the 2018 Bronco Classic held at SUNY Delhi. The warm day allowed for almost the entire team to set either season or personal bests in their events.
In the Field events Steven Donnelly from Geneseo, NY, lead the team in personal best improvements. Donnelly threw personal bests in both the discus and hammer. In each event he improved by over 8 meters. Donnelly threw 36.0 meters in the discus and 32.90 in the hammer. Conor Harrigan from Syracuse, NY, threw a personal best in the javelin throwing 41.05 meters and Devin Nottingham from Brockport, NY, triple jumped a personal best of 12.22 meters. All three are extremely close to the National qualifying standard.
On the track, Dexter Proctor from Gates, NY, ran a season best in the 100m and 200m. Sam Voak (1500m) from Penn Yan, NY, Jesse Smith ( 800m) from Lyons, NY and Michael Booth (1500m) from Mt. Morris, NY all set season bests in their events. The surprise of the day was Jake Phillips from Oneida, NY who ran his first ever 1500m in 5:05.45.
We also ended the day with three more qualifying times for the upcoming NJCAA national meet in May. Audrie Prusinowski from Marcus Whitman, ran the 100m hurdles qualifying her for her second event. Gillian Laco from Palmyra, NY qualified for the Pole Vault and Noah Murray from North Rose, NY ran the 200m in a qualifying time.
The teams's next meet will be at SUNY Cortland on Saturday April 21st, with the field events starting at 9:30 am, and the running events at 10am.
