Men's Track Participates at Nationals

The Men's Track and Field team participated in the Nationals this weekend at Westfield University in Massachusetts.  The team finished in 12th place overall. 

The 4x800 meter relay team of Corey Hurley, Lane Howard, Nate Murad and Jerrett Laskett set a new school record in a time of 8:17.99 finishing in second place overall, earning them 'All American' status.

Jerrett Laskett qualified for the finals in both the 400 meter run and the 400 Hurdles and finished in 6th and 3rd respectively in a personal best time of 50.42 seconds and 56.25 seconds. With a third place finish, Laskett received an All-American honerable mention. Laskett also placed 10th in the high jump with a leap of 1.80 meters (5'10 ".)

Koty Smith took 7th and 9th respectively in the 10,000 and 5000 meter runs in 37:26 and 17:31 respectively.  Mike Newcomb finished in 10th place in the discus with a throw of 33.47 meters (109' 10") as well as 13th place in the shot put with a toss of 10.05 meters (32' 11".)

Mike Pulver ran the 110 high hurdles in a time of 17.62 finishing in 11th place.   Mike also ran a season best time of 1:03.80 in the 400 hurdles finishing in 20th place.  Adam Thorman took 12th place in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a personal record 12:17.85 seconds.

Nate Murad took 14th place and Lane Howard took 15th place in the 400 meter run both running personal best times of 53.39 and 53.46 seconds respectively.  The 4x100 meter relay team of Adam Thorman, Lane Howard, Nate Murad and Jerrett Laskett ran a season best 45.00 for 13th place.  In the 4x400 meter relay, Adam Thorman, Serref Jaguraga, Lane Howard and Nate Murad ran 3:45.39 for 13th place.
